I grew up in what the majority may consider unfortunate circumstances, but looking back, I know the Lord was preparing for more incredible things to come my way. For most of my childhood, I walked about 3-4 miles barefoot to school, sometimes in frigid temperatures. Those circumstances did not deter us from seeing the goodness of Christ because, as the Bible says, "joy comes in the morning," I knew my morning would one day come. My experiences have taught me never to take anything for granted. Every morning when I wake, I am grateful for what surrounds me. I am grateful for the shoes I wear because I know someone is talking barefoot somewhere else and the food I eat because someone has nothing to eat. I am grateful for everything. If you look around you today, you will find all the reasons to be grateful to our God too.
