I met and began following Christ at 8 years old but was not formally taught how until age 24. It was then that I connected with an awesome church that teaches the bible. In that church I found friends my age that truly knew the Lord and were doing their best to live Christian lives, allowing God to fill in all the gaps of our imperfect attempts. Upon meeting my husband and deciding to marry him a year later, I became a law enforcement wife. In that role, and definitely as mother of 2 boys, God has demonstrated Himself to be incredibly faithful and everything that the Bible says He is. Life is not easy, and often painful when your life is one of service. However, I can say that my relationship with God is a living, breathing one. I know His voice and I can spot evidence of Him, especially in challenging times when I simply have no idea what I am supposed to do next. He interacts with me based on specific prayers and conversations I have with Him daily, and I can literally feel His presence – not always, but often. He truly is my first and most powerful love. My favorite experiences with Him are when He stoops down to make me great – I get compliments so often when I speak or lead a workshop and people share with me inspiring words that I have no recall of saying. I think that stems directly from my prayer to God that He will occupy the space between me and those He calls me to serve, and I pray that He will unscramble my simple speech and cause it to make profound impacts for His glory before my words reach the ears of the hearers. He does this for me time and time again, blowing my mind every time.
