Christopher Jeffries

I came to know Christ at the age of twelve and began my faith journey in the Methodist Church. As an adult, I joined the Baptist denomination, where my spiritual growth deepened through active service and fellowship. Over the years, I have been a member of several congregations, including Mount Canaan Baptist Church in Talladega, Alabama; Fourth Street Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia; Great Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, Mississippi; First African Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Liberty Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas; and Franklin Avenue Baptist Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. I have been blessed to serve the Lord in several capacities, including Sunday School Teacher, Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School, Director of Christian Education, workshop speaker, and banquet speaker. Through these roles, I have sought to help others grow in their faith, deepen their understanding of God’s Word, and serve Christ more faithfully. In my professional calling, I have been equally blessed to teach economics at every academic level—from first-year students to Ph.D. students—and to travel internationally to countries such as China, South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, South Korea, Japan, India, and Jamaica. Along the way, I have been honored to receive multiple awards for excellence in teaching, which I view as both a professional and spiritual stewardship opportunity to impact lives through education.
