What can I say? Thank you God. Thank you God. I was asked to join the nursing faculty at UNC Wilmington two months after the death of my son. He was killed while riding his bike at the age of 20 in Hawaii. I wasn't answering my phone and I got a text to check my voicemail. It was not good timing and I was in no place to teach a class. I prayed about it and knew I had two months to consider my options and thankful now that I took the job. The UNCW School of Nursing loved on me as I loved on students. Nursing is difficult and my job is to show the love of Christ through encouragement. I am teaching for one reason and one reason only...to share the message that all have the opportunity for love, peace, joy...even through the most devastating tragedies in Jesus.

My Life

Favorite Quote

My favorite quote is from Job. I love God's response to Job when he FINALLY (haha) spoke to Job after his horrible loss...
Job: 38
“Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge?
“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand'? ...The Lord
I dropped on my knees and cried when I read this. To a man who lost his children. God has the foundation of the world in his hands.
