Is belief in Christianity merely just a leap of faith? Yes, certainly there is faith, but I believe it is a faith based on reasonable grounds. First of all, I find that very important questions related to the meaning/purpose of life, right/wrong, love, etc. are just not answered through science and a naturalistic worldview. And, once I allow for the possibility of miracles and a supernatural worldview, I believe that the evidence for Christianity, versus other religions, is the most compelling for the following key reasons….. I am an engineer, so I like bullet points:) • The New Testament has been preserved in more manuscripts than any other ancient work of literature. • The central claim of Christianity – that Jesus is God and He was resurrected from the dead as a historic event – is certainly a unique claim. I believe that claim based on the evidence of an empty tomb and the appearance testimonies of many eyewitnesses (including 11 of 12 Jesus’ disciples who died for their belief in His resurrection). • Christianity is different than any other religion in its basis for salvation (or the idea of going to heaven or being with God, which is part of every religion). In Christianity, salvation is a gift from God based on faith in Jesus. Christianity is the only religion where the offer and the burden for accomplishing salvation rests solely with God, and a person can do nothing on their own to deserve or to accomplish their salvation.

I have a number of favorite quotes.. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose". Romans 8:28 A person who thinks too much of himself thinks too little of God. Do what you can, where you are, with what you have. A good measure of our trust in God is our own level of anxiety. "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever" 1 Peter 1:24-25 "For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind" 2 Timothy 1:7
