I distinctively remember one of my undergrad faculty members telling me I should be a professor. I literally cried in his office right then and there-- I didn't think it was possible to be both a professor and a Christian. I decided I wanted to do something else related to research so I decided to pursue my MS and PhD. Even though a career aptitude test put being a college professor as my #1 recommended position, I was still in denial. Well, God clearly got His way and here I am- a professor and loving it. Balancing academia, family, and the rest of my personal life isn't easy but I have peace that God has me where He wants me. I love working with students, helping them learn more about themselves and empowering them to achieve their goals. I love being able to build relationships with my colleagues and working alongside them. I hope to bring the light, love, and peace of Jesus into every room I walk in and while I know I fail at that daily, I'm grateful for His grace to try again.
