Born in Cali, Colombia, my journey to the United States in 2002 marked the beginning of a transformative chapter. With two degrees in chemistry under my belt, I arrived with big dreams but limited English. From driving cars to mastering pharmacy technician skills within a month, I navigated challenges with immovable determination. God's grace has been my constant companion. Through countless setbacks, including failed attempts at the Ph.D. entrance exam, His unwavering support propelled me forward. I earned my Ph.D. in Chemistry in 2013 and have since dedicated myself to teaching and serving my community. Fulfilling my role in our department at USF, I have been committed to mentoring and supporting our students on their journey through college life and beyond, giving back to the country that embraced me with open arms when I came years ago. My involvement in youth programs through the church and the "Bridges International" program at USF is just a small part of my passion for fostering growth and bridging cultures, but also my way to be an instrument in God's hands. Every step of this extraordinary journey has been marked by resilience, faith, and a deep desire to grow and inspire others. I am grateful to God and to those who gave me a helping hand when I needed it and also for the opportunities to overcome obstacles and make a positive impact on those around me. Seeking God is a never-ending process that I encourage others to take; it is worth the investment.
