By God's grace, I had the benefit of having Christian parents where faith was very much a part of my growing up. It seemed natural that I accepted Christ as my Savior at the age of 12. However, as a child and teenager, I focused more on being a good person and approached Christianity as a checklist of things to win God's approval. When I came to NC State as a student, I got involved with other Christian students and learned that faith in Christ is not about rules. My time in college really helped me understand Christianity is a personal relationship with God. Participating in small group fellowships, Bible studies, mission trips and retreats enriched my faith. Today my relationship with Christ provides the focus, guidance, and strength to live with purpose. I encourage you to investigate the claims of Jesus Christ!
