My story begins with a Catholic faith that I didn't understand better until today! I have always walked with God but didn't learn about the depth of a relationship I could have until college. My cousin helped start a College and Career group at the Calvary Chapel in my hometown, just 30 minutes from my campus. We gathered every Saturday night for hours! With great leadership and great friends to help us along, we all grew in our faith. Sundays found me volunteering at a Baptist church where I learned the beauty of childlike faith and praying from the heart no matter the hurt, help or high fives mentioned. Thankfully, my husband grew up in a Christian home and when we started dating, we also attended services together. We were married by the pastor who walked with me through the first College and Career group. In 2013, I was blessed to travel with Cru as a faculty member. We got to see the beauty and hardship of God's children thirsty for hope in something greater than them and their country. That was my first mission trip! My husband and I bought our first home in Atascadero, California and became members of Atascadero Bible Church. We LOVED the church family there, the life lessons learned in faith, our small groups and the Children's Ministry. After eight years, we moved just a half hour south for my husband's new farming career. Now we get to be stewards of God's soil, too! Today, we're so thankful our kids are receiving a faith-based education at a local private school and we're seeing the benefits of teaching them to have a relationship with Jesus in addition to their amazing school lessons. Today we all attend Grace Five Cities. It is an absolute honor to be a teacher. I see it as a moral obligation to use my teaching gifts on campus. I love office hours. They're more like life talk hours 🙂 I'm so thankful to have a platform and access to so many young people that I can provide a living example of walking faithful journey.
