When I am asked to introduce myself, I often start by saying that I am French. And if you get to know me, soon enough you will realize how proud I am to be French: I could speak of their language, cuisine, customs, and history. Pride was one defining component of my character for most of my life. I was proud to be an obedient child, I was proud to get good grades, I was proud to go to church. But when I met Jesus and accepted Him as Lord, He asked me to surrender my pride. Walking with Him has been a journey toward self-forgetfulness, a journey where He is teaching me that "He must increase, but I must decrease" (John 3:30).
