Paige Meeker

I became a Christian as a child and I'm thankful for that. Throughout my life, I've been blessed to see God working - to bring me to my husband (married since 1997), through my two children, through my work. When we look for God, we can see Him all around us - in nature, in technology, and mostly in our hearts. I love animals and have four dogs and two horses. I feel God shows us who He is through nature. I can't imagine how someone can see a sunrise, a mountain, or a horse running across a field - it's muscles rippling beneath its skin, and not know there is a God. I have taught computer science at the college level since 2001 as a PhD and before as a graduate student. I have taught Sunday school and love working with students of all ages. I feel that God teaches us through what we do and in Computer Science, He teaches us to think logically about how things work, how to describe and solve problems, and how we are incapable of doing everything we want to do - we need Him in our lives. There are some things that computers are unable to calculate, just as there are things we can not do without God's help and guidance. When I fly, as I look out of the window, God's fields, pastures, and cities look like circuit boards to me! He has shown Himself to me in many ways - from a beautiful sunset containing my favorite colors on my birthday each year to direct help - once, when lost in San Francisco (alone in my 20's) I prayed "God help me - give me a sign" and a road sign pointing me to the correct path appeared before me. In the next three months of driving there, I never found that sign again. He has also been with me through major surgeries of my children and taught me that He is in control of all things.

Working hard to return the computer science major to Presbyterian College (Fall 2019), after it moved to a minor only program in 2012. However, my career at PC has come to an end as I have accepted a new position as Professor of Coding and App Development at Anderson University in Anderson, SC. I wish PC the best with their new program and look forward to the exciting new challenges that Anderson University will bring.
