Paris Barnes

In the early 2010s, I was wandering as a soldier for the enemy. I said that Jesus was a good man who did good things, and that God didn't exist because science couldn't measure Him. After traveling to Taiwan as part of my work at Millikin, I started thinking more about the reality that God was real and that Jesus was an important part of understanding God. My close friend and colleague George noticed this and asked me to read a book with him called "The Normal Christian Life" by Watchman Nee. I learned during that time that we are all sinners and by accepting Jesus as my Savior, I could be saved. Shortly after reading that book, I started attending church, learning that salvation comes through faith, not through works, and learned about true love. Soon after, I realized the importance of Jesus in my life and accepted Him as my King. Over the last 10+ years, I have continued to learn more about Jesus, growing my faith, and putting to rest the "old man" in me.
