Rick Scott

I am a follower of Jesus, have been married to my wife, Laura, for 35 years, have two grown children, and have a new home near Clemson, SC. I retired from Raytheon on August 1, 2023, and joined the ME department at Clemson University as full-time teaching faculty. I look forward to updating this story in the future.

My Life

Favorite Quote

Here is a great quote. "Put everything in your life afloat upon God, going out to sea on the great swelling tide of His purpose, and your eyes will be opened." - Oswald Chambers

My hobbies

My hobby has been adjunct teaching while working in industry. Now that I am full-time faculty at Clemson University, I will be looking for another hobby. Any ideas?

My undergrad alma mater

Oklahoma State University

Favorite books

I typically don't have favorites, but at this time I am reading a great book by Heather Holleman entitled Seated with Christ.

Favorite coffee

Columbian, black, no room.

Current Research

The ME department does not require me to do research as teaching faculty, but I would be happy to meet and discuss structural dynamics (shock and vibe), finite element modeling, structural and dynamic response optimization, optomechanical design and analysis, or similar topics.
