Troy Johnson

I was born on Feb. 29th 1940. I dropped out of high school because I was flunking geometry and joined the Navy. I spent 23 years in the Navy, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander with a high school GED. I went to Mesa Jr. College and San Diego State Univ. in San Diego, Calif. and then to UCLA for my MA and Ph.d. I joined the faculty at Cal. State Long Beach in 1994. I am chair of the American Indian Studies Program and have an appointment in the history department as well. I have been married to my wife for 48 years - we have one daughter and five sons living in various parts of the US. I accepted Christ as my personal savior at a very early age and even though I have not always been as faithful and close as I should have, Christ has never moved away from me. He is my strength and my protector for now and forever more. I hope that I get to meet any of you students who enroll at Cal. State Long Beach. Best regards. Dr. Troy Johnson
